Etnik

KidOShoe carries Etnik’s Mola Collection.  A “mola” is a colorful, hand-sewn fabric panel made by the Kuna women of Central America.  A mola’s design is made only twice, once for each side of a Kuna woman’s traditional blouse.  Because of this, each pair of shoes made for the Mola Collection is unique and one-of-a-kind. The sole of each Etnik shoe is made from recycled tire rubber, which provides pretty awesome shock- absorption and is eco-friendly. The shoes fit true to size, with a medium-to-wide width.
Etnik represents the pride and rich cultural traditions of Latin American designers.  The company showcases the best of the traditional Latin American arts, along with the finest craftsmanship of artisans, and the modern designs of up and coming designers.  Etnik’s primary goals are to preserve artistic traditions, support cottage industries, find new markets for high quality handcrafted goods, and to ultimately improve the quality of life of single mothers, disadvantaged families and rural economies.  A portion of Etnik sales goes to “Seeds to Roots,” a micro-lending non-profit organization dedicated to providing low-interest loans to emerging entrepreneurs in Latin America.
